The Music Advisory Group

For many years there has existed an advisory body known as the Music Advisory Group which meets regularly to discuss and address issues concerning music education both in and out of school.

A decision has been reached to expand the membership of this group to include representatives from each phase.

If you would be interested in taking part, please contact:

Chris Weaver on 200 1529.

Blow Your Own Trumpet!

'Blow Your Own Trumpet' is North Tyneside's music newsletter, packed with news and events and offering support and help you in your musical endeavours, both curriculum and extra-curricular.

In primary/ first schools there has been input into classroom support, with a draft music policy in circulation and a draft scheme of work to follow. We have run training courses, especially for those with little or no experience of teaching music.

We have run events involving many pupils and as mentioned elsewhere we have undertaken a complete survey of music provision.

Thank you to all schools who have responded to our request for information (of all sorts) and if there is any thing you would like to discuss with us, suggestions, help needed, etc.

Please get in touch. We will be delighted to hear from you.

Drew Elliot 200 1522, Pauline Davison 200 1523.
