The Net is a great place to learn, find new interests and friends. However, try and remember these important tips to make your surfing experiences safe and enjoyable: Never give out personal details such as your name,
address or phone number. Never give out your email address. Never reveal passwords. Never give out private details about your parents, family or friends. Never arrange to meet with someone you have met online. Never add someone you met in a chat room to a buddy, online or instant messenger list as they will be able to know whenever you are online and have one to one conversations with you. Never open any messages from someone you don't recognise. It could contain a virus or dodgy content. Remember that people online may not be who they say they are, no matter how long you have been in contact with them. Always log off if someone is saying things you do not like or that scare you. Always tell a person you know well and trust, like a parent or teacher, if you are worried or frightened. Remember it is not your fault if someone is trying to frighten you.
