Westall's War

Robert Westall is a local author. He grew up in North Shields and his father was an air raid warden during the second World War. This web site is about the dreadful bombing of a public air raid shelter under Wilkinson's Lemonade Factory in North Shields.

The site includes a searchable database of the people who died in this terrible disaster and extracts from Westall's work relating to this event.
